PIRATE FOOTBALL
“Success isn’t owned. It’s leased and rent is due every day.”

July 13th, 2018
9-12 Football Players
7-8 Players
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It’s that time of the year again. We are only a few weeks away for the fourth season of “Pirate Football”. I hope everyone is looking forward to the upcoming season.
We will be having a football meeting for grades 9-12 on Wednesday, August 1st at Tioga High School Gym at 7:00 P.M. We will be handing out equipment at this meeting. I will have practice jerseys available for sale for practice. If you cannot attend the meeting and want to play, get a hold of one of the coaches. Bring a buddy with to the meeting; strength is in numbers for the game of football.
The first day of practice for grades 9-12 is Monday, August 6th at 8am, which means our first day of contact will be Thursday. We will have practice on Saturday, August 11th and this will be team picture day. Since Teachers and Coaches have In-Service on August 14th, 15ht & 16th we will be having practices in evening on those two days (approximately 4-7). If you haven’t been lifting and running it might be a good idea to get going in the next couple of weeks. First game is Friday, August 17th vs Mott/Reagent. School starts Monday, August 20th. Which gives us just 10 days before our first game, so if you want to play in the first game you cannot miss a practice.
Junior High meeting will be Monday August 13th at 8:30am at High School on Stage. You will get equipment and have a practice, so make sure you bring shorts, t-shirt and shoes.
Important!!!! Everyone must get a physical. NDHSAA says a physical must be done yearly in order to compete. In order to practice you must have a physical and a consent form signed in order to start practice. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL AUGUST TO SCHEDULE, BE PRO-ACTIVE AND GET THIS DONE BEFORE THE FIRST WEEK OF PRACTICE. IT IS TOUGH TO GET IN FOR PHYSICALS WITH THE INFLUX OF PEOPLE IN OUR AREA.
See you at the meeting and lets’ get ready to play some Pirate Football. On the back is the schedule.

Football is believing. Football is TOTAL COMMITMENT. Football is HARD WORK, DEDICATION and SELF SACRIFICE. FOOTBALL is a TEAM that BEATS with ONE HEART. FOOTBALL is MUD, SWEAT and DRIVE. FOOTBALL is WHATGEVER IT TAKES. FOOTBALL is WHAT YOU GIVE—110%. FOOTBALL is BROTHERHOOD…ON and OFF the FIELD. FOOTBALL is FINDING a WAY to WIN for the HOME CROWD. FOOTBALL is ONE GOAL.
HARD WORK WILL ALWAYS OVERCOME NATURAL TALENT WHEN NATURAL TALENT DOES NOT WORK HARD ENOUGH….

The FBLA members had a great trip to Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD where they competed at the National Leadership Conference. Although they did not place in the top 10 in their events, they worked really hard and should be proud of their accomplishments! The conference hosted around 12,000 FBLA members.
The kids were also able to gain countless memories along the way while touring the US Capitol, monuments at the National Mall, Holocaust Museum, Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, National Aquarium, and many other fun places.
Huge thank you to everyone that has supported FBLA and helped make this trip possible!
FBLA members are competing at the National Leadership Conference in Baltimore. Wish them luck!
